Shinjuku City’s Winter Traditions—Let’s Go See Yukitsuri (Snow Protection for Trees) at Kansen-en Park

At Kansen-en Park (3-5 Nishi-Waseda, Shinjuku City), yukitsuri, which is a winter tradition in Shinjuku City, is now being carried out. Yukitsuri refers to a protection for pine trees against snow damage. Every year, city employees set the yukitsuri in place by hand at Kansen-en Park.

With an area of land of approximately 14,000 m², Kansen-en Park is the only Japanese garden in Shinjuku City designed as a circuit, and you can experience a peaceful atmosphere that is a completely different world from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city. Why not go see yukitsuri, which is done only at this park in Shinjuku City?
